Formed in 1964, AFTEC is a distributor and integrator of aviation fueling equipment. As an industry leader, AFTEC has assisted in designing and supporting hundreds of aviation fuel facilities in both the commercial and military markets. AFTEC’s primary business is representing manufacturers in the distribution of aviation fueling equipment and commissioning of aviation fuel facilities.

AFTEC has been a “Single Systems Supplier” on hundreds of projects. AFTEC has longstanding relationships with key industry manufacturers, contractors and engineering firms. We have a registered professional engineer on staff who performs aviation system integration review and start-up as a daily and primary aspect of his employment.

Our Team

Owner – David Boyle

David is a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point, graduating with an engineering degree. While a US Army Corps of Engineer officer, David commanded a construction company in support of US Air Force Europe (USAFE) runway repair missions and numerous civil construction projects at various air bases in Germany.

David has been in the energy industry for over 2 decades and has specialized in bulk aviation fuel storage since 1994. Since his departure from the US Army Corps of Engineers, David has continued to support Department of Defense facility projects.

His professional credentials include professional engineer registration in NC and SC. As an engineer, David has designed many aviation fueling systems for customers around the country and provides equipment consulting services to architect and engineering firms.

David conducts plans and specification review, systems integration, and commissioning activities as part of his normal day to day employment.

John Wilson joined AFTEC in 2007, after completing tours in Bosnia, Korea and Iraq as a combat aviator (Captain) in the United States Army. While serving his country, John piloted Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters for the 2nd and 3rd Infantry Divisions as well as the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Seattle University. John's primary responsibilities include bid preparation, submittals, order execution, etc., as well as startup, commissioning and training activities.

Prior to joining AFTEC in 2018, James compiled a progressive career in process and mechanical engineering leadership roles for Fortune 500 companies within the energy sector. He is a successful project manager, ensuring sound engineering designs, specification compliance and internal standards, while offering a deep understanding of aviation fuels engineering, systems integration and commissioning activities. James is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Engineering Nuclear Engineering from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina.

Tom joined AFTEC in 2021, after working for three and a half decades as a professional engineer and capital project manager in various industries and worldwide locations. He holds a degree in Engineering from Virginia Tech, an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and maintains numerous professional licenses and credentials. Tom’s primary responsibilities include bid preparation, submittals, order execution, etc., as well as startup, commissioning and training activities.

Weston joined AFTEC in 2021, after completing numerous CONUS and OCONUS assignments as a combat aviator (Captain) in the United States Air Force. While serving his country, Weston piloted the T-6 Texan II, T-38 Talon, and A-10 Thunderbolt II. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy. Weston’s primary responsibilities include bid preparation, submittals, order execution, etc., as well as startup, commissioning, and training activities.

Mr. Campbell joined AFTEC in 2022. John is a proven industry professional with a demonstrated history in all aspects of the aviation fueling industry. He is a highly successful project manager and technical sales professional with strong communication skills, thorough market knowledge and extensive experience in mechanical and plumbing systems, including shop fabricated storage tanks, oil/water separators, piping and pumps/controls. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Gettysburg College. John’s responsibilities include project management, technical presentations, and bid preparation, as well as project startup, commissioning, and training activities.

Ryan Chandler joined AFTEC in 2022, after completing multiple Western Pacific tours as a combat aviator (Lieutenant) in the United States Navy. While serving his country, Ryan piloted the Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk helicopter. He holds a degree in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy. Ryan's primary responsibilities include bid preparation, submittals, order execution, as well as startup, commissioning, and training activities.

Dylan joined AFTEC in 2022, after completing assignments at both Fort Stewart and Fort Jackson as a Logistics Officer (Captain) in the United States Army. While serving his country, Dylan served as a Mobility Operations Officer in the 3rd Sustainment Brigade, where he tracked over 10,000 Soldiers and 100,000 Tons of Equipment over multiple deployments and redeployments both CONUS and OCONUS. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. Dylan’s primary responsibilities include bid preparation, submittals, order execution, etc., as well as startup, commissioning, and training activities.
